ne festival-goer Lizzie Allitt said it took her four-and-a-half hours to access the site at Long Marston near Stratford-on-Avon on Friday evening. She also complained that the camping area was waterlogged. rganiser James Algate denied the site was boggy and added that 15 minutes was a normal time for entry. "This year it’s been diabolical" Ms Allitt told BBC Coventry & Warwickshire.

– There will be some fast-fingered picking in the mountains come next weekend at the 15th annual Pemi Valley Bluegrass Festival. String instruments like the banjo fiddle stand-up bass and various guitars are king during the three-day festival Aug. 3-5 at the Branch Brook Campground.
Two bailed over festival attack

The 15-year-old boy was found on Friday night in a field at Helsington where the Kendal Calling event is being held. He had suffered serious head injuries in a “violent attack” according to Cumbria Police. Two 15-year-old boys arrested on suspicion of assault causing grievous body harm have been released on police bail pending further inquiries. Police have appealed for anyone with information about the attack to contact them.
Film festival reels in works with personal connections

Works by independent filmmakers Jibril Haynes L. Lumpkins-’Bryant and Bill Willis will be among more than 50 films to be presented at the ninth annual Roxbury Film Festival which opens Wednesday and runs through next Sunday at five Boston sites. The event is organized by two nonprofit organizations: ACT Roxbury which promotes arts and culture as a vehicle for economic development and the Color of Film Collaborative which supports media makers of color and others who have an interest in creating and developing new and diverse images of minorities.

Among currencies on display is the rare gold dollar which Aramco initiated in 1948 to pay for oil because the Kingdom at the time insisted on exchanging oil for gold.
