US and British films dominate the program of the world’s oldest movie contest totalling 11 titles out of the 22 films – all world premieres – in the main competition. “We wanted to show that there is an Anglo-Saxon cinema that is different from the mainstream one” Marco Mueller the festival’s director said as he unveiled the program. “ur main criterion was originality and we found that British and US films still manage to offer something new and dare more than others” he said. "What I find extraordinary is that the films in the lineup are incredibly innovative and yet full of stars.

The 190-thousand tickets that went on advance sale are gone sold out in three days. Some tickets are available at the gate – but most of those who waited – are out of luck. Paleo is more than just music: the Festival’s “Village du Monde” showcases entertainers from North Africa. ” Cirque du Soleil”is there for some amazing street theatre.

cn ) Updated: 2007-07-27 11:39 The Eighth China Arts Festival will be held in Central China’s Hubei Province on November 5-20 the Ministry of Culture and Hubei provincial government jointly announced on Wednesday. The China Arts Festival is the top-class and largest art festival in China. The main hall for the art festival is set in Wuhan the capital of Hubei Province while several branch halls for the arts festival in some other cities in Hubei such as Yichang Huangshi Xiangfan Jingmen and E’zhou. Its opening ceremony will be held in Wuhan and the closing ceremony in Yichang. About 54 stage dramas will be finished during the festival for the Wenhua Award the top stage art award by the Ministry of Culture including three Peking operas three Kunqu operas eleven stage plays three modern operas three musicals seven dance dramas fourteen local operas four children’s plays and six evening parties with acrobatics and song and dance performances.

The Bulgarian town of Veliko Tarnovo vibrates to sound and movement as the city’s 10th annual International Folklore Festival comes to life. Performers come from Argentina Bulgaria Georgia the USA and more: here to Veliko Tarnovo in Bulgaria where they’re dancing in the streets. The town’s tenth international folklore festival shows off the art and cultural heritage of the town and surrounding villages. China is represented and Costa Rica.
