7th China Int’l Folk Arts Festival opens in Suzhou

As a grand art carnival initiated by China’s Federation of Literary and Art Circles in 1990 the triennial festival featuring international national and grass-root flavor is aimed to develop and promote exchange of folk arts across the world. Starting on Tuesday this year’s CIFAF is acclaimed as the largest ever in the country with nearly 460 artists from 22 countries and regions staging indoor and outdoor performances. (Xinhua Photo).

CCTV celebrates Moon Festival with gala

This year’s gala was held in poetic surroundings at the Summer Resort in Chengde Hebei province which is also listed as a world heritage site. The stage in the shape of four lotus leaves was built in the middle of a lake.
