Set in Afghanistan the political movie features an all-star cast including Robert Redford and Meryl Streep. Cruise and Redford attended the 51st London Film Festival event at the deon Leicester Square. The film about the suffering of soldiers in Afghanistan is being tipped as an scar contender because of its controversial subject matter. Cruise spent more than two hours meeting fans before the premiere opened.

27 the now popular Haebangchon Music Festival is putting together the Halloween party to beat them all. Named “Howlin’ Weenie” this ctober’s installment of the seasonal gathering of local expat musicians will feature over 30 live acts ranging from popular Hongdae bands to not so well known solo acts starting to make a name for themselves on the always vibrant Haebanghcon music scene. Hosted by local bars range Tree Phillies Ssen and VFW as always helping Haebangchon get geared up for another all day bonanza of music and fun! With Halloween just around the corner most people are planning the usual costume party here or perhaps to go out to one of the many venues around Seoul which have their own flavor of Halloween on show. But of course they are usually blighted by the same complaints not enough music not enough people not enough festive atmosphere or something along these lines.

Rather they will be on Friday when seventh- and eighth-grade choir girls from Kentwood’s Valleywood Middle School join other girls from local schools to perform “Festival of Song” a free collaborative concert at Trinity United Methodist Church 1100 Lake Drive SE. concert will be the culmination to a day-long workshop organized by the Girls’ Choral Academy during which the girls will be coached by guest conductor Dr. Emily Ellsworth nationally acclaimed conductor of the Glen Ellyn Children’s Chorus in the Chicago-area.
