Madonna’s film for Berlin Festival

The Berlin International Film Festival runs from 7 to 17 February. Advertisement Madonna will be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in the US in March.
Drama festival to be held from January 3

The festival is being organised by the ‘Ganjam Zilla Mancha Kalakar Sammilani’ for the last 17 years. Like earlier years the venue of the drama festival would be the Kavisurya Rangamanch. The festival would continue for six days and amateur drama troupes from different districts of south rissa would participate in the festival. This time also the organisers gave preference to rural troupes said President of the Sammilani Balaram Das. The rural talents of south rissa who kept alive theatre movement in the era of television would be honoured during the festival.
41-day Mandalam festival concludes at Sabarimala

Hundreds of devotees attended the auspicious Mandalapuja performed to the presiding deity at the Ayyappa temple. Tantri Kandararu Maheswararu assisted by Melsanthi T. Krishnan Namboodiri performed the Brahamakalasapuja and Kalabhapuja at the Eastern Mandapam at 11.
Flamingo festival begins today

NELLRE: Nature lovers have something to cheer about. A three-day flamingo festival will begin at Sullurpet from Friday with an aim to promote eco-friendly tourism at Pulicat Lake area. In addition to bird watching the festival will also offer tourists cultural programmes exhibitions and tours to other attractions. A host of cultural programmes have been planned to entertain visitors to the birds’ sanctuary at Nelapattu and Pulicat Lake. Besides a seminar will be conducted to deliberate on various aspects related to the Pulicat Lake on the second day December 29.
