Benson Lee’s “Planet B-Boy” about the resurgence of break-dancing took the audience award for documentary feature. Winners of jury awards: Narrative films: best feature: “Amal” directed by Richie Mehta; special jury award (tie): “Always Be Boyz” by John Kwon and Ron Morales’ “Santa Mesa. ” Documentaries: best feature: “Planet B-Boy”; special jury award: “Wings of Defeat” directed by Risa Morimoto. The festival’s sponsor the Center for Asian American Media estimates this year’s attendance at 29000 and says that more than half of the 113 shows were sold out.
