The minister said at the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) Forum in Abuja that the promotion would boost tourism in the country. "In the past one year we have been making very giant strides to hit international tourism market with Nigerian cultural festivals. GA_googleFillSlot( “AllAfrica_Story_Inset” );"We took a decision to have 12 national festivals; we have been doing a lot of advocacy with the states on the need to upgrade these festivals" he said. He listed the festivals to include Eyo Masquerade in Lagos the Calabar Carnival Enugu New Yam Festival Argungu Fishing Festival and the pobo Boat Regatta.

Each concert is after all a revival of music that’s been dormant since its last performance. But Wednesday evening an audience at the Jewish Community Center in Squirrel Hill witnessed a particularly special rebirth. Just a week ago this building played the role of a funeral home for the final concert of the Y Music Society. Wednesday it housed a vibrant concert by the Pittsburgh Jewish Music Festival.

The event is sponsored by Samsung and has been organised in co-operation with the city halls of Sofia and Shoumen. This is the first year that the event is being held in Shoumen. The other new thing this year is the competition for people with disabilities which will start 30 minutes before the the festival kicks off at 11am.
