Being a documentary on Argentinean soccer star Diego Maradona the film was screened at ?ut of Competition? section of Cannes festival 2008. The Documentary and Experimental Film Center (DEFC) officials at the Cannes festival negotiated with the film?s distributor company Wild Bunch and they agreed on screening of the film in the festival. DEFC officials also invited the documentary film ?Tyson? directed by the American filmmaker James Toback to be screened at Cinéma Vérité Festival. Focusing on the controversial heavyweight boxing champ of the 1980s Mike Tyson the documentary was screened in the Cannes Un Certain Regard sidebar section.

Kambiz Roshanravan was appointed as the secretary of the gala which will be held from December 9 to 17. Submitted works will compete in several sections of traditional Iranian non-Iranian classic pop orchestral choral and musical composition. In the traditional music section the number of a band?s instrumentalists and vocalists should not exceed nine and each musical instrument should preferably be played by only one player. In the non-Iranian classic section the band should not exceed eight and the pieces presented to the festival should be those not staged since January 2008.
