The communications company is returning as a sponsor this year but is providing only a fraction of the cash it used to give. And Southwest Airlines which had been the second-tier “presenting” sponsor has pulled out entirely meaning the festival is losing cash and free airline tickets it used to bring in artists. “Between the two major sponsors San Jose Jazz is facing a potential $300000 shortfall of revenue” San Jose Jazz Executive Director Geoff Roach told me.
