Unfortunately not every veteran on the bill was as creatively dynamic as Size. Such headlining DJs as Armin Van Buuren Tiësto and Paul Van Dyk trotted out the same tired techno and trance beats. Van Dyk did introduce a new single “Home” that true to its title had an unusually warm house-music feel and operatic pop vocal. Anything was better than Prodigy the once hugely successful rock-electronic crossover band which resorted to a string of epithets to try to spark a muddy wan performance.

This year equality and race the military and media the economic crisis and the world’s water crisis are explored through 10 festival events taking place from Tuesday through April 16. Last year the film series dealt with the environment health care sweatshop labor and fair trade coffee said Kristina Wolff UMF assistant professor of sociology. Wolff and John Messier UMF assistant professor of economics had a personal interest in seeing the films and decided to share them with campus members and the public. “The goal was to bring contemporary issues to campus. We had some really amazing discussions” she said.
Festival helps youngsters get creative

‘>MUSIC from across the world rang out in Henley at a special concert that formed part of a creative music project organised and funded by The Henley Festival. Two local primary and two local secondary schools got together at Christ Church Henley last Friday to present a performance of a work designed to hone their music-making skills. In the run-up to the performance music workshops funded by The Henley Festival were led by Andy Baker (Bournemouth Symphony rchestra) and Joby Burgess (percussion specialist). The creative music project was designed to extend a Henley Festival outreach project that saw murals created in 10 schools at the end of last year. Schools that took part in Friday’s performance were Langtree School Woodcote (year 11 GCSE music students) Gillotts School Henley (year 10 music students) Shiplake Primary and Crazies Hill Primary Wargrave.
