In addition to the Neville Brothers and Sharon Jones Saturday’s lineup will feature a 50th anniversary salute to Miles Davis’ class album “Kind of Blue” by Jimmy Cobb’s So What Band. Also performing on the festival’s first day with be Summer Storm featuring Norman Brown Wayman Tisdale and Eric Darius the Jon Faddis Quartet the Jack Sheldon rchestra the Pete Escovedo rchestra featuring Sheila E. Esperanza Spalding Cos of Good Music the New Birth Brass Band and the Los Angeles County High School for the Arts Jazz Ensemble.

The juried event considered one of the nation’s top art festivals gathers 300 artists and craftspeople in spring and in fall for sprees for shoppers and collectors who value handmade and unusual creations. Although exhibitors are from throughout the nation dozens are from Texas. The upcoming festival March 27-29 will be in Memorial Park two miles from the landmark Galleria. For two days in fall the outdoor event occupies the lawn and streets downtown near the reflection pool at City Hall.
