Glastonbury Festival Announces Complete Line-Up

The three main headliners for this year are Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band Neil Young and Blur. The headliners will be performing on the Pyramid Stage with Young taking the spotlight June 26 Friday Springsteen on Saturday and Blur on Sunday. Black Eyed Peas The Prodigy Lily Allen Lady GaGa and Tom Jones are all joining the big event from June 24 to 28. rganizer Emily Eavis tells telegraph.

Crowds that lined the balloon launch field cheered enthusiastically as each balloon rose overhead. FWA officials left the launch schedule up to each balloonist’s discretion and many left for home. The few that stayed got one last flight in before darkness ended the four-day festival. Kenny Shumate drove from rlando to fly his black and yellow balloon.

“I had such a good time and it brought back memories of me being on the jury that when I went home I went into my DVD collection and I picked 14 films from all over the world that I had never seen and decided to have my own little Cannes Film Festival” said Tarantino who is competing again at Cannes with the World War II epic “Inglourious Basterds. “”In the course of like a week and a half I watched those 14 movies and then judged them as if I was on a jury a jury of myself just watching them. And then I gave out my own little awards.

This year opening night was Friday May 22 2009 and featured a free performance by Curtis Salgado Band. What a great idea and the weather has cooperated with this years Rose Festival plans by having temperatures in the 70’s and above for the entire weekend. n Memorial Day Monday (May 25) there will be a “Moment of Remembrance” while Portland experiences a jet fly-over and an impressive 21-canon salute. At the Waterfront Village everyone will be feeling the fun while experiencing a free concert with singer Amy Clawson.

Despite the Hood Canal Bridge closure Manildi said venues were still full on Saturday and Sunday and were about the same as usual — about three-fourths full — on Friday and Monday. Because of the closure of the floating bridge for repairs festival marketing was aimed at North lympic Peninsula and Victoria residents who don’t need the bridge to come to Port Angeles. Manildi said no specific ticket sales numbers were available Monday because the machines used to do the reports had broken mid-calculation. “We had some difficulties but speaking strictly from observing the venues I wouldn’t say we have had any less than past years” she said.

The festival kicks off with a parade through downtown klahoma City with over 100 tribes represented in full regalia. The parade is followed by the Art Market opening at 11 am.

“We had wonderful weather” said Laura Schlachter program manager for the Main Street Port Clinton group which sponsors the festival. “It really lucked out the whole weekend” she said. “This has been one of the best Mondays we’ve had. “Sunday morning’s pancake breakfast fundraiser where hungry diners caught the pancakes on their plates was a fun success Schlachter said.
