Davidson to play in Holiday Festival in New York

(AP) — Davidson coach Bob McKillop will make his homecoming next season when the Wildcats play in the Holiday Festival in New York. McKillop said Tuesday that Davidson will open against Cornell on Dec. 20 at Madison Square Garden while St. John’s faces Hofstra. The winners and losers meet a night later.

inc]–> The Woodlands Township will host a full day of Fourth of July fun during the 12th annual Red Hot and Blue Festival. The July 4 festival which draws as many as 100000 visitors to the master-planned South County community features the second-largest fireworks display in the Greater Houston area said Nick Wolda marketing director of The Woodlands Township and president of The Woodlands Convention and Visitors Bureau. This year’s show will be “enhanced” he said. “We’re going to shoot a much larger show” he said. “We’re using a company on contract with Disney.

hio politician objects to Naked Cowboy’s return

Robert Burck says he has nothing to be ashamed of and is proud to have grown up in Greenhills hio near Cincinnati. Burck has become a tourist attraction in New York City’s Times Square strumming a guitar while wearing just boots underwear and a hat. Mayoral candidate Pat Andwan sent an e-mail to city council members urging them to protest Burck’s upcoming appearance at the Greenhills Summer Festival. He says it’s an inappropriate venue for a man who wears only underwear. Mayor scar Hoffman says he’s known Burck a long time and there’s nothing immoral about the act.

Brews and Blues Festival helps grant wishes

The Community Wish Foundation is hoping people will come to its first Brews and Blues Festival on Saturday so it can “pass it forward” to individuals and organizations in Butte Glenn Tehama and Colusa counties. The nonprofit organization’s only fundraiser of the year takes place at Willows Memorial Hall 525 W. It features music by The Pits beer and wine tastings food samples coffee and blended coffee drinks and water – all supplied by Northern California businesses. “There will something for everyone” according to RaeAnn Titus a foundation board member.

Check out antique cars and hot rods at Detroit church festival
The Detroit News
Saturday at God’s Graceland Park in Detroit. In addition to the outdoor gospel concert and new and classic vehicles the festival will include food train rides and other kid-friendly activities. Families are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and blankets.

Tampa Bay Lightning to introduce top draft picks at fan festival
