Arrests as protesters target UK far-right festival

Police said they made 19 arrests after scuffles broke out during the rally of about 750 to 900 protesters in the village of Codnor central England. About 100 people of the several hundred attending the festival were delayed by protesters a party leader said. Derbyshire Constabulary said the protest was largely peaceful but some people threw plastic bottles eggs and fruit at officers as a small group of demonstrators tried to break through a police cordon. The BNP opposes immigration and does not accept nonwhite members.
